Build your own programme for your residential from the wide range of nature based climate action learning and cross curricular activities we have on offer.
For a 3 day residential you may choose 6 activities which are led by centre staff, plus 1 evening activity.
The table below provides a guide showing the times activities will take place, which ones are led by Centre staff and which will be supervised by you.
The timings when activities take place are flexible and can be adjusted to meet your requirements.
First day
- 10am to 12.30pm: Activity 1
- This activity will be undertaken on a walk to the Centre if the group is being met at Chingford station
- 12.30pm to 2pm: Lunch and free time
- Supervised by school staff
- 2pm to 4pm: Moving in to pods and activity 2
- 4pm to 6pm: Free time with dinner at 5pm
- Supervised by school staff
- 6pm to 7.30pm: Evening activity
- Led by Hive staff your first evening you may choose from one of these options below
- Bat walk - available April, May, September or October only
- Hive quiz night
- Eco games (indoor or outdoor options)
- Meet the Hive animals
Middle day
- 9am to 10am: Pod inspections and free time
- Supervised by school staff
- 10am to 12pm: Activity 3
- 12pm to 1.30pm: Lunch and free time
- Supervised by school staff
- 2pm to 4pm: Activity 4
- 4pm to 6pm: Free time with dinner at 5pm
- Supervised by school staff
- 6pm to 7.30pm: Evening activity led by school staff
- Your second evening you can choose from the following
- Campfire kit
- Movie night
- Disco
- Sports
- Or free time in the lodge
Last day
- 8am to 9am: Breakfast
- 9am to 10.00: Pack luggage and clear the pods
- Supervised by school & Hive staff
- 10am to 12pm: Activity 5
- 12pm to 1pm: Lunch and free time
- Supervised by school staff
- 1pm to 2.30pm: Activity 6
- Led by Hive staff
- if walking back to Chingford activity 6 takes place on the walk. You will arrive at the station for 2.30pm
