Waltham Forest Council is supporting every school, college and early years setting in the borough to take part in the international Eco-Schools programme, establish a student-led eco-committee and to follow the Seven Steps to achieving a Green Flag. The council is funding the £200 Green Flag accreditation fee for all primary and secondary schools up to 2023.
Across the school curriculum as a route into climate and global learning we've put together primary and secondary/college resource programmes which will be made up of 10 Eco-Schools Topics.
School Eco-leads and any member of school staff keen to find out more are welcome to attend our free half-termly Climate Action Teach-Meets.

Why Eco-Schools?
Eco-committees or eco-teams empower the next generation of innovative, inspirational young citizens and shows your local community that your college, school, or nursery is forward-thinking and actively engaged in protecting people and planet.
Applying for an Eco-Schools Green Flag is the perfect way to acknowledge, reward and celebrate the achievements of young people and it reflects your school's commitment to addressing the climate and ecological emergency.

This list will keep evolving please do let us know of any useful sites.
SchooI events such as fund-raising fairs are a great opportunity for getting people together, being creative and having fun, but they can also result in a lot of extra use of resources and waste.
